Brighton & Hove Albion – Manchester United (2020-06-30)

English Premier League outfit Brighton & Have Albion will face in-form Manchester United in the matchday 32 at the American Express Community Stadium on Tuesday.

The home team will come in the match as underdogs because of their league standing and recent form.

Brighton are currently placed on the 16th position of the league table with 33 points after 31 matches, six clear of the drop zone and therefore, a disastrous result against the Red Devils can make things really difficult for the Seagulls.

Brighton’s recent form in the Premier League will not give manager Graham Potter much hope as for a positive result on Tuesday they’ve only won two out of last 15 matches in all competitions and suffered six defeats in that duration.

On the other hand, United will come in the match as strong favorites as they are still within touching distance of cementing a top-four spot.

Currently, Manchester United are placed on the sixth position of the league table with 49 points, five-behind fourth-placed Chelsea.

United’s morale will be very high considering the fact that they’ve secured another impressive win in their last match, which was against Norwich City in the FA Cup quarterfinals stage.

United’s overall form coming into this match will give the players and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a lot of hope as they are unbeaten in their last 15 matches in all competitions where they’ve have drawn only four and won the other 11.

Manchester United have a clear superiority in the head-to-head record against Brighton as they’ve emerged victorious four times in six meetings.

In the last meeting between the both clubs in the league competition, United thrashed Brighton 3-1 while playing at home in November 2019, courtesy goals from Andreas Pereira, Scott McTominay and Marcus Rashford

Brighton’s last win against United came in the 2018 season when they defeated United at the same venue where the Tuesday’s match will be played with the score of 3-2.

Players to watch out for:

Neal Maupay (Brighton & Hove Albion)

Neal Maupay is Brighton’s most explosive player in the campaign with nine goal—the most by any player in the squad. Ever since the resumption of the season, the 23-year-old has looked sharp in the final third and scored an important goal in a much-needed win against Arsenal. Therefore, Brighton’s management will be hoping to see their star performer continue his good run and play an important role in securing another important win on Tuesday.

Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United)

Bruno Fernandes has been a real success ever since joining United in the January transfer window from Sporting for a reported transfer fee of £49.50 million.

The Portugal international has been a breath of fresh air for the Manchester-based club and has already produced a number of impressive performances in such a short period of time. In just seven league matches for United, Fernandes already has three goals and three assists to his name which makes him the biggest threat for Brighton in the match on Tuesday.

Looking at the current form, the prediction is for Manchester United to win the clash with the score of 2-1.
