Delhi Capitals players

Now, let`s go in-depth about the different players, their strengths, and the team composition of the Delhi Capitals team in the IPL 2020 season. Delhi Capitals has a host of young talented players from the Indian and international circuits which makes them a team to watch out for this season.

Captain: Shreyas Iyer

Shreyas Iyer was impressive with his captaincy last season and helped Delhi to win their first knockout match in IPL history. He is also a very talented batsman and he recently cemented his place in the Indian team with his impressive showing in Limited overs cricket.

Batsmen: Prithvi Shaw, Ajinkya Rahane, Shikhar Dhawan, Shimron Hetmyer

Ajinkya Rahane and Shikhar Dhawan are experienced players who have represented the Indian team in all formats of the game. Prithvi Shaw is an exciting young talent who has raised eyebrows with his batting skills recently. Shimron Hetmyer is a big-hitting Caribbean player who can take on any bowler on his day.

All-rounders: Ravichandran Ashwin, Marcus Stoinis, Lalit Yadav, Axar Patel, Keemo Paul, Daniel Sams

Ravichandran Ashwin is the best off-spinner in the Indian team and he can bowl every variation in the book. Axar Patel has been a regular player in IPL for 6-7 seasons and can effectively contribute with both bat and ball. Marcus Stoinis is a batting all-rounder from Australia who can bat well and give vital overs for the team. Keemo Paul can be lethal with his variations in the slow tracks of UAE. Daniel Sams came in as a replacement for Jason Roy in the last moment is an excellent exponent of variations and slow balls.

Wicket-Keepers: Rishabh Pant, Alex Carey

Rishabh Pant is the best batsmen for Delhi over the past 2-3 years and his ability to hit sixes makes him more dangerous. Alex Carey can be an effective keeper cum batsmen for the team.

Bowlers: Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Ishant Sharma, Mohit Sharma, Avesh khan, Tushar Deshpande, Amit Mishra, Harshal Patel, Sandeep Lamichchame

They have experienced pace bowlers in form of Ishant Sharma, Mohit Sharma, and Kagiso Rabada to bowl with the new ball and death overs. Anrich Nortje, Avesh Khan, Harshal Patel, and Tushar Deshpande will serve as the back-up options in the pace bowling department. Amit Mishra is one of the IPL veterans and is the leading wicket-taker for the Delhi team in IPL. Sandeep Lamichchame is an exciting young leg-spinner from Nepal with experience of playing across leagues all over the globe.

Delhi Capitals IPL 2020 Prediction

Delhi Capitals is one of the exciting teams with young talents in the fray with a promising Indian batsman in charge of the team. They have a batting line-up with a host of top-order batsmen in form of Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Shimron Hetmyer, Marcus Stoinis, Ajinkya Rahane, and Shreyas Iyer. They have one of the strongest bowling attacks with experienced pace and spin bowlers. The absence of big-hitting batsmen in the middle order and quality all-rounders will be the biggest weakness of the team and they will depend heavily on their top-4 players to play throughout the innings. We expect the Delhi Capitals to end the season in the group stages itself in the IPL2020 season owing to the over-reliance on top order and inexperienced captain at the helm when compared to other teams.  But, we have a gut feeling Delhi team will punch above their ranks this season.

Top Delhi Capitals players to bet on

  1. Shreyas Iyer – Quality batsmen and skipper
  2. Rishab Pant – Aggressive batsmen & Keeper
  3. Amit Mishra – Leg-spinner & highest wicket-taker for DC
  4. Kagiso Rabada –  Aggressive Pace bowler
  5. Ravi Ashwin – Spinner who can bowl a lot of variations
