Player of Kolkata Knight Riders

Now, let`s analyze the team combination, squad strength, and different player options available for the KKR team for the IPL 2020. Kolkata Knight Riders have batting firepower to match any teams in the league with the likes of Russell, Morgan, Banton, and Karthik.

Captain: Dinesh Karthik

Dinesh Karthik is one of the stalwarts in the IPL and has played in all the 12 seasons so far. He is a quality wicket-keeper batsman who can score runs at a good strike rate once he is set.  He will lead the KKR team for the second time in IPLs this season.

Batsmen: Eoin Morgan, Shubman Gill, Nitish Rana, Rahul Tripathi, Siddhesh Lad, Rinku Singh, Nikhail Naik

Eoin Morgan will be a big boost to KKR`s batting line-up and leadership group this season. Shubman Gill is regarded as one of the brightest stars of Indian cricket. Nitish Rana and Rahul Tripathi have performed well in IPL and will provide crucial balance in the middle order. Nikhil Naik, Siddhesh Lad, and Rinku Singh will be reserve players who will be waiting for their elusive chance to showcase their talents.

All-rounders: Shivam Mavi, Andre Russell, Chris Green, Pat Cummins, Sunil Narine

Andre Russell and Sunil Narine are the biggest names in the KKR team and their all-round capabilities can be a big plus to any team. Shivam Mavi was picked up as an exciting young pace prospect but was unlucky to miss out owing to injuries. Pat Cummins (15.5 crores auction price) & Chris Green are the new addition to their squad this season.

Wicket-Keepers: Tom Banton

Tom Banton is an exciting young player from England who can play unorthodox shots to score runs at a good pace. He can also keep wickets if required for the team.

Bowlers: Prasidh Krishna, Sandeep Warrior, Lockie Ferguson, Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Manimaran Siddharth

Prasidh Krishna was impressive with his pace and control last season. Sandeep Warrior, Lockie Ferguson, and young Kamlesh Nagarkoti will add great depth to their pace bowling department in the squad.  Kuldeep Yadav Chinaman bowler will partner Sunil Narine to take care of spin bowling responsibilities. Manimaran Siddharth and Varun Chakravarthy are unknown spin commodities who have made names in the local matches in the Indian circuit.

Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2020 Prediction

Kolkata Knight Riders is one of the strongest teams in the IPL with a lot of experienced players in both batting and bowling departments. They have proven match-winners in the top-5 batting position with the likes of Russell, Morgan, Karthik, Gill, and Narine. They have a good pace and spin bowling department which is strengthened by the likes of Green and Cummins this year.  They rely heavily on the foreign players in both batting and bowling departments and lack proven local players which might be a big worry for the team. Barring Prasidh Krishna and Kuldeep Yadav they have no experienced T20 player from India in the bowling department.   We expect the Kolkata Knight Riders to reach the semi-finals of the IPL 2020 season owing to their strong squad and leadership group with the likes of Russell, Narine, and Cummins to help Dinesh Karthik.

Top players to bet on

  1. Sunil Narine – Attacking opener & Mystery Spinner
  2. Andre Russell – Big-hitting all-rounder
  3. Eoin Morgan – Quality middle-order batsmen
  4. Pat Cummins –  Experienced Pace bowler & handy lower-order batsmen
  5. Prasidh Krishna – Exciting young pace bowler
