Squad

Now, let`s analyze the team combination, squad strength, and different player options available in the Mumbai Indians for the IPL 2020. Mumbai is one of the strong teams in every IPL season and they have managed to win 4 out of the last 7 seasons.

Captain: Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma is one of classiest batsmen to ever grace the field and he can make big scores with ease once set. He is one of the two players to score 4 centuries in T20I format so far. He led Mumbai to three titles and will look to add one more to his trophy cainet this season.

Batsmen: Chris Lynn, Suryakumar Yadav, Saurabh Tiwary, Anmolpret Singh

Suryakumar Yadav has been one of the regulars in their team for the past 2-3 seasons. Chris Lynn looked a bit scratchy in the CPL recently played but can hit huge sixes if he gets into rhythm. Saurabh Tiwary and Anmolpreet Singh will serve as reserve players who might get a chance in the middle order if any other player fails to perform well or gets injured.

All-rounders: Kieron Pollard, Krunal Pandya, Hardik pandya, Anukul Roy, Sherfane Rutherford, Prince Balwant Rai

Kieron Pollard is of the stalwarts of Mumbai Indians team who has represented the franchise every year so far. The Pandya brothers provide excellent balance and depth to the team with their all-round capabilities. Hardik Pandya has been a revelation for the team with the bat last couple of seasons. Sherfane Rutherford is a Caribbean player who bats in middle order and gives important overs with his medium pace bowling. Anukul Roy and Prince Balwant are the latest recruits made from the Under-19 teams of the past.

Wicket-Keepers: Quinton De Kock, Aditya Tare, Ishan Kishan

Quinton De Kock will be their first choice keeper and he will open the batting for the team. He is the current skipper of the South African limited overs team. Ishan Kishan might play as a batsmen in the middle order based on his team`s combination and is a safe keeper behind stumps.

Bowlers: Jasprit Bumrah, James Pattinson, Mitchell McClenaghan, Trent Boult, Nathan Coulter Nile, Mohsin khan, Dhawal Kulkarni, Jayant Yadav, Rahul Chahar, Digvijay Deshmukh

Jasprit Bumrah will be their bowling spearhead and he is regarded as one of the top quality bowlers in the last 4-5 years in the IPL season owing to his performances. They ahe international pace arsenal in form of Trent Boult, James Pattinson, Nathan Coulter Nile, and Mitchell McCleanaghan in the squad. The spin department looks bleak with only two spinners in from of Rahul Chahar and Jayant Yadav. Mohsin Khan and Digvijay Deshmukh are the young talents who will be waiting in line to showcase their prowess once they get a chance.

Best possible XI

Rohit Sharma (C) Quinton De Kock (Wk), Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Kieron Pollard, Krunal Pandya, Hardik Pandya, Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah, Mitchell McCleanghan, Rahul Chahar, Dhawal Kulkarni

Remaining Players: Chris Lynn, Saurabh Tiwary, Anmolpret Singh, Anukul Roy, Sherfane     Rutherford, Prince Balwant Rai,Nathan Coulter Nile, Mohsin khan, Jayant Yadav, Rahul Chahar, Digvijay Deshmukh, James Pattinson, Aditya Tare

Mumbai Indians IPL 2020 Schedule

Mumbai Indians will play their opening match against their arch rivals Chennai Super Kings in the tournament opener.   Here is the complete schedule of Mumbai Indians for the IPL 2020.

IPL 2020 Prediction:

Mumbai Indians is one of the strongest teams in the IPL with experienced players and quality all-rounders. They have attacking batsmen in the top-7 batting position with the likes of Rohit, De Kock, Hardik Pandya, and Kieron pollard capable of winning matches on their own. They have a pace arsenal with a host of international bowlers such as Boult, McCleanaghan, Coulter Nile, and Pattinson alongside Jasprit Bumrah and Dhawal Kulkarni. They lack quality spin bowlers in back-up as they rely heavily on Krunal Pandya and Rahul Chahar. Lack of spin bowling options in the back-up seems to be their only weakness on paper and they have a very balanced and strong playing XI capable of beating any team.  We expect the Mumbai Indians to reach the finals of the IPL2020 season owing their strong team with a host of all-rounders to add depth and balance to the team.

Top players to bet on

  1. Quinton De Kock – Attacking opener & Wicket-keeper
  2. Rohit Sharma – Aggressive top-order batsmen and Skipper
  3. Hardik Pandya – Attacking middle-order batsmen and medium-pacer
  4. Jasprit Bumrah – Pace bowler who bowls predominantly in death overs
  5. Ishan Kishan – Exciting upcoming batsmen & keeper
