Pakistan tour of England 2020: England Vs Pakistan, Third Test

Joe Root will hope rain will stay out of the contest

Match predictions

Winners Prediction: Rain and bad light played spoilsport in the second Test with only 135 overs being played across 5 days. England has the best bowling attack for these conditions and a solid batting line-up. Pakistan has been slightly off-color in the batting department barring a few individual performances.  We expect England to win this match if the weather does not account for more time.

Pitch Conditions: The Rose bowl is becoming tough for batsmen with overcast conditions and overnight rains. The seam bowlers might enjoy the swing on offer and we can expect scores in the range of 250-350 runs in the first innings. The weather does not look promising with high chances of rain on days 1, 4, & 5.

Toss Prediction: Teams will look to bat first on this pitch as no one wants to chase the total in fourth innings usually. We overcast conditions expected on day 1 and better weather on days 2 & 3 teams will look to bat field first in this match.

Predicted Playing XI

ENGLAND: Joe Root (C), Jos Buttler (Wk), Rory Burns, Dominic Sibley, Zak Crawley, Ollie Pope, Joe Denly, James Anderson, Jofra Archer/Sam Curran, Stuart Broad, Dominic Bess, Chris Woakes

PAKISTAN: Azhar Ali (C), Mohammed Rizwan (Wk), Shan Masood, Abid Ali, Babar Azam, Asad Shafiq, Mohammed Abbas, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, Yasir Shah, Fawad Alam

  • England leads the series 1-0 and this is the last match of the series.
  • Both teams will look to pocket the 40 ICC test championship points on offer in this match weather permitting.
  • Batting first teams failed to cross the 2650-run mark here in last two test matches. .
