Let us have a small discussion about the teas progress and talking points of this week`s action in the IPL.

DELHI CAPITALS

Delhi Capitals raised to the top of the points table with 3 wins in this week. Shreyas Iyer, Prithvi Shaw, and Marcus Stoinis has been their prolific run scorers so far.  Rishab Pant, and Shikhar Dhawan are yet to make a big score despite getting starts while Shimron Hetmyer played a match changing 45 runs in their last match. Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje has been piling up wickets consistently this week with their spin duo of Axar Patel and Ravi Ashwin making huge inroads in the middle overs. Delhi Capitals have a complete team this year with good mix of batting and bowling department. Ravi Ashwin`s run-out warning to Aaron Finch at non-strikers end for backing up too far made huge headlines this week.

MUMBAI INDIANS

Mumbai Indians continued their domination with 2 wins in as many matches. Their batting line-up is arguably the strongest in this year`s IPL as they post 190+ scores in both matches. SuryaKumar Yadav and Quinton De Kock has impressed with the bat in the two matches while Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard are making a big reputation as a dangerous duo in the death overs. MI pace trio of Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult, and James Pattinson are currently in the top-4 wicket-takers of the tournament and are creating havoc to the opposition. Mumbai has a settled playing XI and has looking very dangerous at the moment.

SUNRISERS HYDERABAD

Sunrisers Hyderabad had a good week in terms of results with 2 wins in 3 matches but dealt a body blow with the loss of pace spearhead Bhuvaneshwar Kumar. It may haunt them big time in coming matches. David Warner and Johnny Bairstow were brilliant with the bat as they scored big runs in the recent matches. Their young players Abhishek Sharma, Abdul Samad, T Natarajan and Priyam Garg are gaining confidence and are impressing as the tournament is progressing. Rashid Khan has found his golden touch as he has figures of 12-1-38-4 in this week. Lack of fifth will be their biggest worry in their coming matches.

KOLKATA KNIGHT RIDERS

KKR ended up losing the match by 18 runs in big-hitting madness at Sharjah but they made a huge comeback in their next match against CSK where they out witted the opposition with their bowling changes. Rahul Tripathi`s move to top has been a master stroke as he responded with a match winning 81 runs. Eoin Morgan took the attack to Rabada in Sharjah while big names Russell and Narine are slowing getting into the groove. Youngsters Shivam Mavi, Varun Charavarthy, and Kamlesh Nagarkoti have been brilliant with the ball alongside the likes of Cummins and Narine this season. They have a settled playing XI and have very little things to settle in the team.

ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGALORE

RCB won one and lost one match this week. Skipper Virat Kohli`s return to form will be their biggest positive this week. Devdutt Padikkal scored yet another fifty this week. Washington Sundar has continued his impressive showing in the power play while Yuzi Chahal showed he is their best bowler yet another time against RR. Navdeep Saini has been on a downslide and their death bowling still remains a big issue. Virat expect`s the return of Chris Morris will plug their holes in the final overs and he is expected to join the squad in the next match.

CHENNAI SUPER KINGS

CSK`s batting woes moved from top order to middle order as they are not able to finish matches which was their biggest strength in these many seasons. Shane Watson hit form with back-to-back fifties while Faf continues to impress. Kedar Jadhav`s form has been the biggest debate and hope CSK team gives him a break from playing XI. Shardul Thakur, Dwayne Bravo, and Sam Curran are impressive with the ball doing their jobs to perfection. Deepak Chahar, Ravi Jadeja, and Piyush Chawla are yet to make good contributions for the team with the ball in hand. CSK looks rusty and their bench strength looks very shallow going ahead in the future matches.

RAJASTHAN ROYALS

Rajasthan Royals lost 3 back-to-back matches by big margins this week. Jos Buttler`s 70 against MI is their only good performance with the bat this week. Rahul Tewatia and Mahipal Lormor came up with a couple of 40+ cameos. Jofra Archer continued his impressive performances with the ball while Shreyas Gopal and Karthik Tyagi chipped in with crucial wickets in the middle. Ben Stokes arrived at the shores at UAE and is expected to play a big role in RR`s fortunes next week.

KINGS XI PUNJAB

KXIP has suffered a massive slump this week as their bowlers failed to take a wicket in 35 overs continuously. CSK chased down 180 runs without losing a wicket while SRH posted 200+ runs in their match. Nicholas Pooran has been the biggest positive this season as he hit 44 & 77 runs in the two matches at a strike rate of 200+. Chris Gayle is expected to play a big role in the coming matches subjected to his fitness. Their main weakness has been their bowling and it remains a big question as who will bowl at the death.
